WARRIORS IN THE COMMUNITY
This week our Warriors served the greater good in a couple of different ways, striving to make a difference and "make the world a better place." Starting with the Interact club- the club traveled out to Cambridge Elementary earlier this month to repaint a very faded United States map on their playground. The club donated the paint and supplies to get the work done along with the generosity of our Concord Rotary Chapter, and the school playground looks young again!

Then later this month a group of volunteers from several different student groups, including HOSA, marching band, and athletics all converged on Ygnacio Valley Elementary school to help monitor their Monster Mash dance. Fun times and community service!

WARRIORS ON THE WARPATH- ATHLETICS
This week marked a couple of key victories for Warrior Athletics. Girls Volleyball beat Berean Christian on Tuesday, Cross country boys trounced Clayton Valley Charter High School, and Ladies Tennis beat Berean Christian on Thursday.

Advanced Guitar Rocks the House
Thursday marked the first guitar concert of the year, with the advanced guitar class playing acoustic tunes for a good crowd. Geoff Carter, the vocal music and guitar instructor, could not have been more pleased with their performance. " I am so proud of my guitar class- they KILLED it at their recital tonight. Really great playing / appreciative parents / students asking if they can add the class @ 2nd semester / amazing!... My new partner in crime, Zachary Pattison is racking up awards with the Marching Band & resident Warriorette on Steroids, Kelly Krauss Cooper, is back at the helm of the ENTIRE YV Dance Program. Could it be??? Is YVHS having . . . a Performing Arts RENAISSANCE??? Only one way to find out: come check out the show, people!! YV PA Alumni: time to reconnect with your legacy." (See their performance HERE )The after school program, under the direction of Allyn Monzon and Sonia Contreras, provide outstanding enrichment for our students from 3:30 up to 5:30pm, including tutoring and these high interest programs.

Golden Warriors Tear Up Santa Cruz
The Golden Warrior marching band made another outstanding appearance and the annual Santa Cruz Festival, and for the first time in at least 4 years, the Color Guard took home a first place trophy. Led by senior Danielle Tortolani, the Warrior ladies could not be more thrilled (or deserving) with their success.
